Band Competition will be on September 28, 2008 at
Stevie Ray's Blues Bar, 230 East Main Street, Louisville, KY

This year there will also be a Solo/Duo Category on October 18, 2008 at
Zena's Café, 122 W Main St, Louisville KY

Deadline for Entry is Aug 29, 2008

Band winner receives First Prize Money of $500 plus recording studio time
and other prizes from our sponsors!

Solo/Duo winner receives First Prize Money of $100 plus recording studio time
and other prizes from our sponsors!

This contest is a qualifying round with an automatic berth in the Blues Foundation's Annual International Blues Challenge held in Memphis each year (February 4-7, 2009). KBS uses the Blues Foundation's rules and scoring as the basis for our competition. For the Foundations complete set of rules, visit the IBC Section of the Blues Foundation's Web Site. 

This competition is open to any blues performer or act who is at least 21 years of age and whose name has never appeared on a final Handy Award ballot. (NOTE: All members must be at least 21 years of age in order to enter any venue that serves alcohol.)
